Gator Trout!
Yesterday, it was all about the Redfish.
Today, while we saw our share (and even hooked up once) we could not get them to co-operate. Randolph was not to be denied! There are lots of big Trout out there right now and this one did not get away.

Nice Job, Randolph! A solid Gator Trout! 26inches, almost 6lbs.!

There are lots of fish on the flats right now! Book your trip...April is almost gone! Let's go Fishing!

Indian River Redfish!!
Today, I got to fish the McIntire boys (Father and Son). The morning started off with high expectations as we were greeted to slick calm waters and the occasional tailing Redfish. While we did our best, the Redfish did not want our presentation.
We were not to be defeated! After a slight location change, the wind picked up slightly from the south and the bite was ON!

Here is a shot of a 10lb. Redfish that gave a bull dog of a fight.

The McIntire's will be eating good tonight!

There are lots of fish out there right now and April is filling fast.
Let's go fishing!

Nearshore Cobia Hunting

The wind finally laided down enough to allow me to get my 18 foot Action Craft flats boat out in the ocean to hunt for Cobia that are currently migrating along our coast, north to their summer homes.

We searched for a long time without any signs of our prey, when suddenly, up ahead, a huge manta ray appeared on the surface. A few well placed jigs out to the side of the ray and "Fish On!" While we had opportunities to throw at several other rays throughout the day, it would prove to be the only fish of the day.

The cobia are still out quite a bit and not free swiming much yet. The next couple of weeks should bring warmer water and the Cobia closer to shore.
When the conditions are right this is an exciting time!

As the weather heats up...so is the Fishing!!

Everyday brings us a little warmer weather, here in Florida. The last of the cold fronts have come through and the water temps are creeping up each day.
With this brings a renewed activity to the fish population. More and more baitfish are appearing, and right behind them are the predators.

Redfish are now actively roaming the flats and when approached quitely, are taking most any lure presented to them. When the Redfish have been picky and will not take artificials, a well placed shrimp has rarely been turned down.

Trout have become much more active and are aggressively attacking top water lures or soft plastics. These fish are in the same areas as the Redfish and have been ranging 2 - 5lbs. The Trout action will only continue to get better as the water continues to warm.

March is filling up fast! Let's go Fishing! 321-258-9015
