So, It's been a little windy....
If you are lucky enough to get out on the water, and you find yourself with a windy day and the fishing stinks, check out some new areas of water that will give you some shelter.

Last Saturday morning, after the show, I took the dinghy out fishing. The wind was howling out of the east, so I decided to hide behind the Clinkers. Now, I must admit, that I have a couple spots in the Clinkers, but wanted to check out a different spot that I have rarely seen anyone. I like to fish the Clinkers during the summer because there is usually a lot of bait and the waters are clean and single fish will stay back there. To my surprise, I found a nice school of slot redfish, and MANY, MANY monster trout. The bait of choice was a DOA Shrimp Rootbeer color over all the other baits I own. But I wouldn't have went back there if it wasn't windy.

So, if your having a bad day on the water at your normal spots, (I have three spots I go to each time I fish) try checking out a new spot, and learning some new water, and maybe you'll get lucky. Or in the worst case, you find nothing and can mark off that spot as a junk.

Keep track of fishing with a fishing log, so when you do have a bad day you can check out your log and hopefully get a good bite on.

Tight lines and screaming reels,
Enjoy the outdoors and take a kid fishing!
